Paper Hanging Globe Decorations

Tools and Materials
1/4-inch-wide ribbon
Honeycomb tissue balls (we used an assortment of 12-, 14-, and 19-inch balls, and the tissue peach-shaped ornament)
Stapler

Paper Hanging Globe How-To
1. On a flat surface, arrange closed tissue balls so the tops and bottoms of each touch (see photo; the order of size and the number of tissue balls are completely up to you).

2. If you’re using the tissue peach, cut away the green leaf section of the ornament.

3. Measure and cut a piece of ribbon that is the length of all your tissue balls combined plus any extra inches needed for hanging. Lay ribbon across the stapled tabs on each ball, leaving the extra inches of ribbon at the top for hanging. Staple the ribbon to the tabs.

4. Open the balls all the way and secure them with the closure tabs.

Pop-Up Paper Bouquet

Tools and Materials
5-inch “Westminster” honeycomb-paper bells
9-inch “Westminster” honeycomb-paper bells
(4 to 5 bells in each color; each bell yields up to 3 flowers)
Glue stick
Double-sided tape
Cloth-wrapped floral-wire stems

Pop-Up Paper Bouquet How-To
1. Remove cardboard backing from both sides of each bell, and snip off the two tabs that have staples. Cut bell into petal shapes

2. Rub a glue stick along the straight edge of the petal (indicated in the photo by the dotted lines) to create a thick layer of glue; glue petal to floral wire.

3. While glue is still wet, open up the petal to create a full bloom and secure flower shut with glue. Continue to make tissue flowers in various shapes and sizes until you have enough for a full bouquet. Let dry before arranging. Our bouquet has about 20 blooms.

This tutorial comes from Instructables:

1. Fold your paper in half
2. Fold in half to create a center line, then fold down the corners from the folded edge into the middle
3. Fold up the sides of the unfolded edge
4. Pull out the corners and make another fold in the new center
5. Fold up the corners so you have a triangle
6. Pull the corners out and fold the center straight and ta-dah you have a boat!

Now – stick a little flag in there with a place card name, a table number or just a little monogram flag and put your boats on the cake. Have fun!

DIY Project – Party Blowers

It’s super easy and because party blowers are perfect for any party, these can be made for New Years Eve, a birthday, a baby shower, Christmas…you name it!
What you’ll need:
Drinking straws cut to 5″ or 13cm
Coloured velum
Patterned paper
Tape
Glue
Pen
What to do:
Cut velum into 1″x5″ or 2.5cmx13xcm strips and glue to cover the straw.

Cut patterned paper into 2″x9″ or 5cm x 23cm strips. Fold lengthwise into thirds, folding side in about 1/2″ or 1.3cm. Tape the centre of the strip. Fold one end over and tap closed. Now, roll the strip around a pen or pencil tight so that it curls. On the open end, fold over the end of the straw and secure with glue.
